Dental Student Instrument Requirements
Dental students require personal instrument kits for preclinical simulation labs (Year 1–2) and clinical patient care (Year 3–4). Each school sets its own required instrument list to match its curriculum and clinical requirements, and we configure student kits to those specifications. A typical dental student kit contains 22–30 instruments across 6 disciplines: diagnostic (5), restorative (6), periodontal (5), endodontic (3), surgical (3), and prosthodontic (3). Students purchase instrument kits at program entry, with replacements needed throughout the program. Kit costs vary widely between suppliers and depend on the instrument list a school specifies.
Institutional Purchasing Programs
Our institutional purchasing program provides dental schools with 3 procurement models: individual student kits (pre-assembled, shipped directly to students), bulk institutional purchase (school purchases and distributes to students), and clinic inventory supply (ongoing instrument supply for school-operated clinics). Buying kits direct from the workshop removes the distribution markup that retail supply vendors carry, which matters when you are ordering for an entire cohort. Preclinical Lab Instruments
Preclinical simulation labs require instruments consistent with clinical instruments for effective skill transfer. Our preclinical lab instruments are made to the same specifications as our clinical range — same blade geometry, handle design, and material grade. Lab instrument sets are available in individual student kits or shared lab station sets. We prepare student kits and institutional quotations for dental schools and training programs internationally. Instrument identification engraving (student name or ID number) is available to prevent loss and mix-ups in shared lab environments, and is quoted per instrument with your kit.
