We sharpen and recondition 6 instrument categories: periodontal curettes (Gracey, universal — restore blade angle and cutting edge), scalers (sickle, hoe, chisel — restore tip sharpness and blade geometry), dental scissors (Goldman-Fox, Iris, Dean — restore blade alignment and cutting edge), extraction forceps (restore beak serrations and jaw alignment), rongeurs (restore cutting jaw sharpness and spring tension), and needle holders (replace TC jaw inserts and restore ratchet mechanism). Each instrument is inspected, sharpened to factory specifications, and tested before return.
Sharpening Process
Our sharpening process: instrument intake and inspection (identify wear patterns, damage, and corrosion), ultrasonic cleaning (remove debris and biofilm from instrument surfaces), precision sharpening (restore cutting edges using Arkansas stones, diamond wheels, and automated sharpening systems), quality inspection (verify blade geometry, alignment, and cutting performance under magnification), and return packaging (each instrument is cleaned and individually packaged for return). After sharpening and inspection, reprocess and sterilize instruments according to your facility’s validated protocol before clinical use.
