About Orthodontic Distal End Cutter
We build the distal end cutter to trim archwire flush at the back of the molar tube, close enough to avoid a protruding wire end that could irritate the cheek. A cut-and-hold version grips the cut-off wire segment so it does not fall into the patient's mouth; a no-hold version simply cuts. We confirm which behavior applies to the quoted SKU before ordering rather than assuming it from the product name alone.
Wire Capacity and Reach
We confirm maximum wire size and type the cutter is rated for, the head profile (which affects reach into the posterior of the mouth), and the cutting-edge or insert material for the exact SKU. A cutter used past its rated wire capacity dulls faster and can leave a rougher cut edge than the wire gauge and insert material are built to handle.
