1. Instrument identification
Name the family before the pattern. A family name alone rarely defines a specific SKU.

2. Working end and geometry
The working end is what identifies the instrument. Send measurements or reference dimensions where they matter to your order.

3. Handle and joint
For hinged instruments the joint is a wear point; for spring instruments, the tension is.

8. Sample approval and receiving inspection
The single most effective way to prevent a wrong-pattern order.
