Choose the Retractor by Access Requirement and Blade

A retractor pattern name should lead to a defined blade profile and handle relationship. Minnesota, Austin, Seldin, Weider, Langenbeck, and Farabeuf patterns are compared through width, depth, curvature, angle, side, and overall length. They should not be reduced to one “cheek retractor” label when the buyer needs a specific working geometry.

Identify the tissue or access requirement as context, then order by exact pattern and dimensions. Product copy should describe the instrument, not teach retraction technique or promise exposure outcomes.

Show Blade Width, Depth, and Angle Clearly

Buyers need face and side photographs of the blade with a scale. A full-length image alone can hide the dimensions that distinguish similar patterns. State whether the product is single or double ended and identify both ends separately when they differ.

Handle shape, texture, and overall length affect the order after the blade has been matched. For a replacement, include the figure, measured blade, side profile, handle, and current product reference. Similar appearance is not proof of equivalence.

Individual Retractors and Procedure Sets

Individual ordering suits replacements and specialist patterns. A procedure set should list every retractor and quantity, with the exact blade and handle. If a Seldin figure appears as a standalone product and inside a grouped range, preserve the product reference so duplicate or near-duplicate lines do not confuse the buyer.

For custom sets, send the bill of materials, cassette or tray layout, marking, packaging, and destination. The quoted list should remain available for repeat orders and replacements.
