About 4-Piece Dental Diagnostic Kit
Our four-piece diagnostic kit covers the instruments used in a routine oral exam: a mouth mirror for visualization and retraction, an explorer for tactile detection of caries and calculus, a periodontal probe for pocket-depth measurement, and cotton pliers for handling cotton rolls, gauze and small chairside items.
What's in the Kit
- Mouth mirror — indirect vision, light reflection, cheek and tongue retraction
- Explorer — tactile detection of caries, calculus and restoration margins
- Periodontal probe — pocket-depth and gum-margin measurement
- Cotton pliers — placing and retrieving cotton, gauze and small items
Each component matches the pattern used on our individual diagnostic instrument pages — the mirror is our #5 head, and the probe carries a standard graduated marking scale. If your practice, school or program needs a different mirror size, probe scale, or explorer tip, tell us when requesting a quote and we will confirm whether we can build the kit to that specification instead of our standard configuration.
Substitutions and Custom Configurations
Distributors and dental schools standardizing a kit across multiple students or operatories can request buyer-approved substitutions — a different probe marking scale, for example, or engraved handles for cohort identification. We confirm exact component patterns against your approved schedule before production; a piece count alone does not define which specific instruments you receive.
Packaging
A pouch or cassette is not included unless you specify one on the order. Tell us whether you want the four pieces loose, in individual sleeves, or organized in a cassette, and we will quote packaging alongside the instrument set.
Material and Finish
All four components are manufactured in stainless steel, with a mirror polish on the mirror head and a satin finish on the remaining three instruments.
Replacements
If one component wears out or is damaged before the rest of the kit, you can reorder that single piece rather than the full set — each instrument in this kit is also sold individually on our site.
Care and Reprocessing
Clean and sterilize the full kit according to your facility's own validated protocol rather than a single generic cycle, since the mirror, probe and pliers each have different surfaces to inspect. Our dental instrument quality guide covers what to check on incoming stainless instruments before they go into service.
Requesting a Quote
Tell us the quantity of kits, whether you want our standard configuration or a substituted pattern, your preferred packaging, and your destination market. We manufacture under ISO 9001:2015 quality management certification, with material and packaging evidence confirmed against the order you place.
