This guide helps you turn a hand-file requirement into order lines we can price. Use one line for each file family, size or assortment, and length. Show the number of packs and the total pieces so the quotation and packing list match.
Choose the Right Order Line for Each File
Start each line with the file family. Then decide whether the line is a single size or an assortment. Stainless-steel K-files and Hedstrom H-files always go on separate lines, and each length needs its own line too. The design comparison linked below explains how the two families differ.

What the picture helps identify

- Family (K or H)
The label field that names the file family. Match it to the first field of your order line so K-files and H-files stay on separate lines.
- Size and length
Shown as separate label entries. Copy both onto your request, because one does not imply the other.
- Material
The label field that states what the file is made of. Record it in the material column of your schedule.
- Labelled instructions
The instructions printed for that pack. Sterile status and reuse follow the labelling of the exact product, so note them with your purchase reference.
Prepare a request or replacement record
Copy the blank schedule and fill in one row for each family, size or assortment, and length. Then paste the schedule into the text fields of the quote form. For a repeat order, add the previous reference. You can send a photo of the existing label by email or WhatsApp.
Total pieces equals packs multiplied by pieces per pack. In the illustrative example below, line 1 is 10 packs × 6 pieces = 60 K-files, and line 2 is 5 packs × 6 pieces = 30 H-files. The schedule therefore requests 90 pieces across two lines. These lines are example buyer requirements, not stock options. Available pack sizes and the minimum for your schedule are confirmed on the quotation.

Are individual endodontic files listed on this page?
No. There is no file product grid on this page: stainless-steel K-files and Hedstrom H-files are quoted to order. Send the file type, ISO size or assortment, length, taper, sterile requirement and pack quantity, and we price that schedule.
What is the difference between K-files and H-files when ordering?
K-files and H-files are different file designs and should remain separate entries on the instrument list. Specify the requested type first, then the size, length and exact reference. A shared size or color does not establish that an H-file is the same replacement as a K-file.
Why are file size and taper separate fields?
The ISO size number identifies the file's size designation, while taper describes how the file widens along its working length. Files with the same size number can differ in taper or length, so a file enquiry should state all three, together with the maker or product reference where you have one.
Which dimensions identify an endodontic-file replacement?
Record file type, size designation, working-length designation and taper where specified, together with the maker or product reference. Keep those fields separate: size and length describe different attributes. Use the label or specification for the exact selected file rather than deriving the complete configuration from a photograph.
Can handle color identify an endodontic file on its own?
No. Color can help locate a size within a documented file system, but it does not give the complete type, length, taper or reference. Match the label and size designation as well as the color, especially when a tray holds files from different ranges or an assortment needs replenishing.
Can a hand file be ordered as a replacement for a powered file?
No. Say whether you need a hand instrument or a file specified for a powered system; the drive connection, system and file reference have to match the documented requirement. A similar cutting portion or size number does not mean a hand file can replace a powered-system file.
Are all endodontic files supplied sterile or intended for reuse?
No. Sterile supply and single-use or reusable status are separate attributes, and manufacturer ranges carry different designations. Read the labeling and instructions for the exact file and keep these fields with the purchase reference, so the receiving team follows the right instructions instead of assuming one designation covers the whole category.
What should I include in a file enquiry?
The file type, the size or the full size list of an assortment, the length, the taper where it matters, the sterile requirement, the pack and order quantities, the packaging and branding, and the destination. For a repeat order add the previous reference or a photo of the label. Keep each length and each assortment on its own line.
