About Williams Periodontal Probe
The Williams probe is identified by its marking sequence: 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 8, 9 and 10 mm, with 4 mm and 6 mm left unmarked. That specific spacing is what separates a Williams probe from other periodontal probe scales, which mark different intervals or use continuous graduations.
Reading the Markings Chairside
Tip diameter, marking method — etched or color-coded — and contrast against the stainless steel all affect how easily the scale reads under operatory lighting. We manufacture to a consistent marking depth so the sequence stays legible after repeated autoclave cycles, but marking method and finish should still be confirmed against the exact SKU you order, since preferences differ between practices and schools.
Individual or Set Ordering
We supply the Williams probe on its own for practices replacing a single instrument, or as part of a diagnostic set alongside a mirror, explorer and cotton pliers — ask us to quote it either way.
