Working Face and Combination Ends
The working face contacts the band's occlusal edge and transmits seating pressure without slipping, so face texture and tip length affect both control and access. A serrated face resists slipping off the band during seating; we typically pair a smooth face with a scaling function on the opposite end. Our combination instruments pair a band pusher with a second working end — a scaler or a ligature director — on the same handle to reduce instrument changes chairside.
Choosing Tip and Face
Tell us the tip length and face texture together, and specify whether you need a combination working end (band pusher/scaler or band pusher/ligature director). Short-tip patterns suit tighter access; standard/long-tip patterns give more reach and leverage. We manufacture in stainless steel; tip length, face texture, shank angle, and handle control vary by pattern, so a quote should identify more than the generic family name.
Ordering and Care
Minimum order quantity, packaging, and private-label options are confirmed with your quotation based on pattern mix. For combination instruments, check both working ends independently during cleaning — a serrated band-pusher face and a scaler edge wear differently and should be inspected as two separate checks, not one.
