About Ribbon-Arch Bending Pliers
Ribbon-arch bending pliers have broad, short, flat working jaws for holding and forming a specified orthodontic archwire. The flat-jaw pattern is also referred to as a torque-forming plier. DIS-ORTHO-RIBBON identifies one complete plier, not a paired torquing system or a stepped loop former.
A flat working face rather than a stepped forming beak
The broad paired jaws are the main selection feature of this ribbon-arch pattern. They differ from the cylindrical steps of a loop-forming instrument. When replacing an arch-bending plier, compare the working-face width and length as well as the complete head profile, rather than relying on the handle outline.
Ribbon-arch instruments are associated with holding and shaping rectangular archwire, including torque-related work within their supplied-model specification. A similar name does not make this single plier equivalent to a system requiring two matched instruments or a separate key. Neither a companion plier nor a key is shown as included here.
Match the jaws to the wire specification
State the wire material, rectangular cross-section and required dimensions in your enquiry. Include the required working-face width, jaw length and overall instrument length for an exact purchasing comparison. Confirm jaw dimensions and wire capacity against the supplied-model specification.
Wire ratings and blade widths published for another manufacturer’s ribbon-arch instrument are not automatically applicable to this model. The visible gold-coloured handle ends also do not establish tungsten-carbide inserts. Where metallurgy, surface finish or dimensional tolerances are part of your procurement standard, identify those requirements explicitly in the request.
Keep the order configuration clear
Order by DIS-ORTHO-RIBBON, quantity and destination. Archwires, crimpable hooks, torquing keys, racks and other pliers are not included. If a required technique calls for an additional holding or forming instrument, list that item separately with its own specification; it should not be assumed to arrive with this single-plier order.
