About Barnhart Curette
We build the Barnhart curette as a universal periodontal instrument used for scaling and root planing, most often in posterior areas where its shank shape gives better access than a curette designed primarily for the anterior region. Our range covers the 1/2 and 5/6 patterns, each supplied under separate product codes.
Double-Edged, Posterior-Focused Access
Like other universal curettes, the Barnhart has two cutting edges per blade and a face set at 90° to the lower shank, so it can be used on multiple tooth surfaces without changing instruments. The 1/2 and 5/6 patterns are commonly selected together for balanced anterior-to-premolar coverage.

We manufacture in surgical-grade stainless steel that holds a working edge through repeated chairside sharpening; satin or mirror finish is a cosmetic choice that does not affect edge geometry. Available for manufacturer-direct and private-label orders; minimum order quantity is confirmed with your quotation. Check both cutting edges for wear after sharpening cycles, since a universal curette's two active edges wear at different rates depending on technique.
