About Buck Periodontal Knives – 3/4 and 5/6
Buck periodontal knives are double-ended gingivectomy instruments offered in Figures 3/4 and 5/6. They are cutting instruments for periodontal soft-tissue procedures, not periodontal files or curettes. The figure pair determines the working-end profile and should appear on every quotation and reorder.
Figures 3/4 and 5/6
Both listed configurations are paired patterns. The 3/4 and 5/6 blade shapes provide different access and incision characteristics, so they should not be substituted for one another based only on the Buck name. Confirm the blade outline, end orientation, cutting edge and bevel against the drawing or sample.
Each visible figure pair is available under two SKUs. We preserve those references because a handle, finish or production difference may sit behind the shared short label. An existing buyer should use its approved SKU and sample reference.
Ordering for Periodontal Surgery Sets
When adding Buck knives to a surgical tray, list each figure pair as a separate item. If a buyer also needs Kirkland, Orban, Goldman-Fox or Sanders knives, keep those named patterns separate in the bill of materials. A general “periodontal knife set” description does not define its contents.
Material, Edge and Finish
The reusable knives are supplied in stainless steel. The selected grade, hardness, blade thickness, edge preparation, satin or mirror finish and passivation status are confirmed in the accepted specification. We manufacture under ISO 9001:2015 quality management certification.
Inspect both cutting ends for chips, rolling, corrosion or deformation before use. Protect the blades in a cassette during handling and follow the facility's validated cleaning, inspection, sharpening and sterilization procedure.
