About Buckley Bone Chisel – Figure 3
Buckley Figure 3 is a periodontal bone-chisel pattern. The previous generic “periodontal instrument” name did not identify its cutting function and risked confusion with Buck periodontal knives. Buckley and Buck are separate eponyms and should remain separate in product searches and purchasing documents.
Buckley Figure 3 Working End
The approved pattern should define blade width and length, bevel orientation, working-end angle, shank and overall length. Figure 3 is not enough to authorize substitution from another chisel family, because several periodontal instruments use the same number.
For an exact replacement, provide a photograph of the blade face and bevel beside a scale, plus the handle marking and original supplier code. A controlled drawing or retained sample is preferred for production approval.
Ordering for Periodontal Surgical Sets
Quote Buckley Figure 3 as its own line item. If a set also contains Ochsenbein, Gardner, Wakefield, Todd-Gilmore or other bone chisels, keep every eponym and figure visible on the bill of materials. Do not shorten the description to “chisel #3.”

The reusable chisel is available in stainless steel. Material grade, hardness, blade dimensions, bevel, cutting-edge preparation, finish, passivation, marking and packaging are confirmed through the accepted specification. We manufacture under ISO 9001:2015 quality management certification.
Inspect the cutting end for chips, rolling or deformation. Protect the blade during handling and follow the facility's validated cleaning, sharpening, packaging and sterilization procedure.
