About UT 1/2 Dental Explorer
The UT 1/2 dental explorer is a recognized double-ended Cattoni-pattern diagnostic instrument. It should be ordered by the complete UT 1/2 pattern name. A #23 shepherd-hook explorer has a different working end and should not be ordered as a substitute.
UT 1/2 Pattern and Working Ends
Published instrument references identify UT 1/2 as a double-ended explorer pattern, commonly with a 0.5 mm tip reference. The two fine working ends are designed for tactile examination of tooth surfaces, restoration margins and areas where a slender explorer is required. Exact tip curvature and diameter remain controlled by the approved product drawing.
The pattern name should appear with the SKU on repeat orders. Similar handles can carry #23, 17/23, 6/23 and other explorer combinations, so handle appearance alone does not confirm the working ends.
What Buyers Should Specify
State whether you need a solid or hollow handle, handle diameter, overall length, grip texture, finish and required marking. If matching an existing instrument, send a clear photograph of both working ends beside a scale, plus the handle engraving and supplier code.
For an OEM order, approve the working-end drawing or retained sample before production. This is especially important where a buyer uses its own internal code instead of UT 1/2.
Material, Quality and Reprocessing
The instrument is supplied in reusable stainless steel. Material grade, hardness, surface finish and passivation evidence are confirmed for the selected configuration. We manufacture under ISO 9001:2015 quality management certification, with private-label marking and export packaging available by quotation.
Inspect the tips for bends, pitting or damage before use. Protect fine explorer ends from heavier instruments during transport and cleaning, and follow the healthcare facility's validated cleaning, inspection, packaging and sterilization procedure.
Request a Quote
