About Gardner Bone Chisels – Figures 1, 2, 5, 5R and 6
Gardner Figures 1, 2, 5, 5R and 6 are bone-chisel patterns for oral and periodontal surgical instrument ranges. They should be purchased by exact figure and working-end specification because the blade, bevel and access angle differ across the family.
Gardner Figure Selection
Figures 1 and 2, followed by Figures 5, 5R and 6, represent distinct working ends rather than size labels for one interchangeable chisel. The “R” designation on 5R should remain visible on the quotation and marking. Confirm blade width, blade length, bevel orientation, shank angle and overall length for every selected figure.
Clinical selection depends on the planned procedure and professional technique. The manufacturer specification should define geometry and material; it should not replace the facility's procedure or instructions for use.
Ordering Individual Chisels or a Set
Each Gardner figure can be quoted individually. If several figures are ordered as a set, approve a line-by-line bill of materials with quantities and handle details. Do not replace a missing figure with another Gardner pattern without written approval.
For repeat orders, use the exact SKU and retain the approved drawing or sample. This is especially important when multiple chisels share the same handle and appear similar in a tray photograph.
Material, Edge and Quality Controls
The reusable chisels are offered in stainless steel. Material grade, hardness, blade dimensions, bevel, edge preparation, finish, passivation and marking are confirmed for the selected configuration. We manufacture under ISO 9001:2015 quality management certification.
Inspect the blade and bevel for chips, rolling or deformation. Protect cutting ends during handling, and follow the facility's validated cleaning, inspection, sharpening, packaging and sterilization procedure.
