About K-File Holder
One holder for posterior hand-file work
This K-File Holder is a single hand-use endodontic file holder, also called a posterior root canal clip. It is 17.5 cm long, and each unit is one holder supplied in blue or gray. It is designed for clinicians who want to hold a hand file with a longer instrument instead of pinching the small file handle between their fingertips during posterior work.
A K-file handle is short. In the molar region, the fingers holding it tend to sit right where you need to see. Moving your grip to a 17.5 cm holder brings your hand back from the tooth, and the file remains the working instrument.
How a longer grip changes your hand position
When you hold a file directly, your thumb and index finger close around the file handle at the access opening. With this holder, the file handle sits at the far end of the instrument and you hold the long colored handle instead. In posterior regions, your fingers and a mirror compete for the same small space, and a patient with a restricted opening leaves even less room. A longer grip can move your fingers away from the immediate field of view.
The holder does not change the file. Size, taper, length and cutting design all belong to the hand file you choose. The holder adds no motor action, no measuring function and no new technique. It is another way to hold a familiar instrument, and whether it suits a given case is your clinical judgment. It will not make every difficult posterior case easier. It gives you a different grip when finger position is the problem.
The visible design
The holder has a long blue or gray handle with a white insert, followed by a curved metal neck. The curve sets the holding end at an angle to the handle, so your grip does not have to sit directly behind the file. At the tip is a rounded terminal housing with a knurled collar and a small hole. This rounded end is where the hand file is held.
Matching the holder to the files you use
Fit depends on the interface between the holder's head and the handle of your file, so the file's ISO number or working length alone does not settle it. Hand files of the same size and length can have differently shaped handles from one maker to another, and the handle is the part that has to seat in the holder. If your practice stocks hand files from several brands, consider which handle style you use most for posterior cases. If one particular handle matters to you, note its maker and reference, or take a clear photo of it, for your enquiry.
What one unit includes
Each unit is one 17.5 cm holder. The color is supplied at random as either blue or gray. You cannot choose the color, and one unit is not a blue-and-gray pair, even though both colors appear side by side in the product photo. Color does not indicate a different size or file type.

A holding instrument, not a storage or electrical accessory
The name file holder covers several unrelated products. This one is not the electrical clip that connects a file to an apex locator. It is not a bench organizer or sponge stand for storing files, and it is not a powered handpiece. It is a manual instrument that works alongside the hand files and other instruments already in your posterior setup, without replacing any of them.
