About Kirkland Periodontal Knife
We build the Kirkland periodontal knife as a gingivectomy instrument with a broad, kidney-shaped blade used to make external-bevel incisions when reshaping or removing gingival tissue. It follows the natural gingival contour and is typically paired with an Orban knife for interproximal areas its wider blade cannot reach.
Where the Blade Shape Matters
The kidney-shaped blade profile follows the curve of the gingival margin, letting the full cutting edge contact tissue along the incision line in one continuous stroke rather than multiple short cuts. This suits facial and lingual gingivectomy incisions where a broad, sweeping cut is wanted; interproximal tissue generally needs a narrower knife such as our Orban pattern instead.

We manufacture in surgical-grade stainless steel with a sharpenable edge, satin or mirror-polished finish. Several patterns are available for bulk and private-label orders; minimum order quantity is confirmed with your quotation. Inspect the full length of the curved cutting edge for nicks after use — a broad sweeping blade like this is more likely to develop uneven wear along its length than a short, straight blade.
