About Langer Curette
We build the Langer curette to combine a Gracey-style shank with a universal double-edged blade, adapting to a specific tooth region like a Gracey curette while cutting on both edges like a universal curette. Our range covers the 1/2 and 3/4 patterns, each supplied under separate product codes.
One Instrument, Two Surfaces
The area-specific shank angle positions the blade against the target surface the way a Gracey pattern does, but because both edges of the blade cut, a Langer curette can be used on both the mesial and distal surfaces of the same region without switching to a second, mirrored instrument. This reduces the number of instruments needed to cover the mouth compared with stocking both Gracey and universal curettes separately.
Choosing a Pattern
Choose the 1/2 or 3/4 pattern based on the tooth region your workflow targets. Practices already stocking a full Gracey range typically add Langer curettes to cover the same regions with fewer instruments, rather than replacing the Gracey set outright.
Ordering and Care
We manufacture in surgical-grade stainless steel that holds a working edge through repeated chairside sharpening, satin or mirror finish. Available for manufacturer-direct and bulk supply; minimum order quantity is confirmed with your quotation. Check both cutting edges for wear, since a Langer's double-edged blade is used more symmetrically than a single-edged Gracey blade and should show more even wear if sharpening technique is correct.
