About Indiana University Posterior Curette 17/18
The Figure 17/18 record on this page belongs to the Indiana University posterior curette family. Its earlier generic name could be confused with McCall 17/18, Gracey 17/18 or other numbered curettes. The full family name is now used so buyers can select the correct working-end geometry.
Indiana University 17/18 Pattern
Indiana University 17/18 is the posterior companion to the Indiana University 13/14 anterior curette. Confirm the blade, rounded toe, back, cutting edges, terminal shank and handle against the selected drawing. The figure pair does not make it equivalent to every other 17/18 curette.
Avoiding a Wrong 17/18 Substitution
McCall 17/18 is a separate universal curette pattern. Gracey 17/18 is area-specific and has a different blade-face relationship. Langer and other eponymous curettes also require their complete family names. State “Indiana University posterior 17/18” on the RFQ and buyer label.
For an exact replacement, send photographs of the blade face, toe and terminal shank from both sides, plus the handle marking and existing supplier code. An approved drawing or retained sample is preferred for OEM production.
Material, Edge and Quality
The reusable curette is available in stainless steel. Material grade, hardness, blade dimensions, edge preparation, finish, passivation, marking and packaging are confirmed with the accepted specification. We manufacture under ISO 9001:2015 quality management certification.
Inspect the toe, back, cutting edges and shank before use. Sharpen only to the approved pattern and follow the facility's validated cleaning and sterilization procedure.
