About Twist Implant Drill Kit
The Twist Implant Drill Kit pairs five sized external-irrigation twist drills, at 2.8, 3.2, 3.65, 4.2 and 5.2 mm, with the marking, pilot, alignment and driving instruments that work alongside them. One of each instrument is supplied, in polished AISI 420 stainless steel that is reusable and autoclavable.
Kit contents by task
Drilling:
- Marking drill
- Pilot drill, external irrigation
- Twist drills, external irrigation: 2.8, 3.2, 3.65, 4.2 and 5.2 mm
Alignment and reach:
- Parallel pins, one long and one short
- Drill extender
Driving:
- Ratchet wrench, 6.35 mm hex
- Short latch screw driver, 1.25 mm
- Short latch implant driver, 2.42 mm
- Short ratchet-key screw driver, 1.25 mm
- Short ratchet-key implant driver, 2.42 mm
- Hand-wrench adapter
Grouped this way, the kit shows what each piece is for. The marking and pilot drills sit ahead of the five sized twist drills. The parallel pins are alignment checks, not additional cutting drills. The extender gives a drill extra reach where access calls for it.
External irrigation and your setup
The pilot drill and all five twist drills are external-irrigation designs. Coolant reaches the site from outside the drill, typically from the handpiece or a separate irrigation line, rather than through a channel running inside the drill. Choose this kit when your surgical motor and handpiece deliver coolant that way. A protocol built around internally irrigated drills calls for a different drill type.
Four sizes, four meanings
Several millimetre figures appear in the kit, and each refers to something different:
- 2.8 to 5.2 mm is the cutting diameter of each twist drill.
- 1.25 mm identifies the two screw drivers.
- 2.42 mm identifies the two implant drivers. It is a driver size, not a drill or implant-body diameter.
- 6.35 mm is the hex drive of the ratchet wrench.
The drivers come in two connection styles. The list distinguishes latch-type drivers from ratchet-key drivers, alongside a hand-wrench adapter. Match the driver tip and its drive interface to the components you use.
