About Bone Curettes
We build the bone curette (also called a surgical or Lucas-style curette) to debride bone after extraction or surgery — scooping granulation tissue, cyst lining, and other soft debris from the socket or a bony defect without removing sound bone unnecessarily. How It's Used
The sharp, hollow spoon-shaped working end scrapes and lifts soft tissue and debris from bone walls in a controlled motion, distinct from a rongeur's biting cut or a file's abrasive stroke. It is commonly used to clean out a socket after extraction, remove cystic or pathologic material, or debride a bony defect before grafting.
Single-Ended or Double-Ended
A double-ended pattern reduces tray clutter by combining two curette sizes on one handle; a single-ended pattern offers a larger, sturdier working end for heavier debridement. Match the curette size to the defect size — a curette too large for the socket will not reach into the base cleanly.
Material and Ordering
We manufacture in surgical-grade stainless steel, hardened for surgical use, in satin or mirror-polished finish. Available for manufacturer-direct and bulk supply; minimum order quantity is confirmed with your quotation. The hollow, curved working end traps tissue and debris more readily than a flat surface — inspect the concave face closely during cleaning before sterilization.
