About Composite Filling Instrument

We build the composite filling instrument to place and shape composite resin during a restoration, before the material is light-cured. The ball-shaped end condenses material into the preparation, and the flat blade end shapes proximal and occlusal anatomy while the resin is still workable.

Ball End vs. Blade End

The ball end packs material into line angles and the floor of the preparation; the flat blade end contours margins and builds anatomical form against the matrix band or adjacent tooth. Working both ends in sequence — condense, then shape — is the typical technique for a single increment before curing. We offer a titanium-nitride or anodized non-stick coating on request; an uncoated instrument tends to drag on uncured resin.
