About Extended Universal Trephine Kit
The Extended Universal Trephine Kit pairs eight trephines with drilling, expansion and compression instruments in a single cassette. Alongside trephines from 2/3 mm to 9/10 mm, it holds conical drills with stopper codes, titanium-coated drills, expander and compression screws, tissue punches, three drivers, a torque-marked wrench and a depth gauge. Compared with a trephine-only kit, the difference is scope: one cassette covers the trephine range plus the supporting drills, screws and drivers.
Beyond trephines: what the cassette holds
- Trephines: 8, from 2/3 mm to 9/10 mm inner/outer diameter
- Conical drills: 16, in four size labels, each with S1, S3, S5 and S7 stoppers
- Titanium-coated drills: 7, from 2 mm to 5.2 mm
- Expander screws: 5, labeled 1.6/2.6, 1.9/3.0, 2.9/3.4, 2.3/3.8 and 2.9/4.3 mm
- Compression screws: 2.8/4, 4, 2/2.8 and 2.8/3.4 mm
- Drivers: 2.5 mm driver, ratchet driver and hand driver
- Tissue punches: 4.5/5.8 mm
- 2 mm pilot and drill extender
- 6.35 mm wrench marked 10–40 Ncm
- Depth gauge
- Cassette
Stainless-steel components are AISI 420, and the instruments are reusable. Reprocess the kit under the processing instructions supplied with it, within the limits those instructions set.
Trephine diameters, inner and outer
Each trephine is listed with both diameters, so you can compare the central opening with the outside cutting diameter. When comparing with trephines already in use, check both numbers. For example, the 2/3 mm trephine has a 2 mm inner and a 3 mm outer diameter.
- 2 mm inner / 3 mm outer
- 3 mm inner / 4 mm outer
- 4 mm inner / 5 mm outer
- 5 mm inner / 6 mm outer
- 6 mm inner / 7 mm outer
- 7 mm inner / 8 mm outer
- 8 mm inner / 9 mm outer
- 9 mm inner / 10 mm outer
Drill sizes and stopper codes
The two drill groups are labeled differently, so keep each measurement with its own component.
Conical drills. The S code refers to stopper length:
- 1.8/2.2 mm: S1, S3, S5, S7
- 2.2/2.7 mm: S1, S3, S5, S7
- 2.3/3.3 mm: S1, S3, S5, S7
- 2.8/4.5 mm: S1, S3, S5, S7
Titanium-coated drills, each marked L18.50:
- 2, 2.8, 3.65, 4.2, 4.5, 4.8 and 5.2 mm
The size label, the stopper code and the working length set by your protocol are separate attributes. Use the supplied-model instructions to establish any relationship between stopper codes and effective drilling depth; the labels alone do not define it.
Comparing kits and requesting a quote
Compare assortments by component group and by interface rather than by headline piece count. Fit is decided by the drill shank against your handpiece and the driver interface against the implant system you place. The 6.35 mm wrench carries a 10–40 Ncm marking, which describes the tool. The torque for any implant component comes from that component's manufacturer.
When you request a quote, include:
- Number of kits
- Implant system and handpiece in use
- Any trephine or drill size you want confirmed against the lists above
- Packaging and documentation requirements
