About Universal Bur and Trephine Kit
Our Universal Bur and Trephine Kit puts two titanium-coated cutting series, eight trephines and eight drills, in one box with the torque wrench, drivers, extenders and compression screws that complete the set. That makes 25 instruments in all. The two size series let you compare a trephine-and-drill assortment without combining separate sets.
What the 25 instruments are
- 8 titanium-coated trephines: 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 mm
- 8 titanium-coated drills: 2, 2.8, 3.2, 3.65, 4.2, 4.5, 4.8 and 5.2 mm
- 1 torque wrench, 10–40 Ncm, with 4.0 mm and 6.35 mm interfaces
- 2 hex drivers, both with a 1.25 mm hex, long configuration
- 2 handpiece drivers: 1.25 mm and 2.42 mm
- 1 ratchet extender, 4 mm square
- 2 compression screws, labelled 2.8/4.2 mm and 4 mm
- 1 extender, labelled 2.33 mm
The storage box comes in addition to the 25 instruments. Its colour may differ from the one in the photographs.
Trephine and drill sizes describe different cuts
The trephines are hollow. Each one cuts a circular channel and leaves a cylindrical core inside the tube. The drills are solid and cut a full-width bore. A trephine number therefore describes a tube rather than a hole, so a trephine and a drill with similar numbers do not remove the same material. If you are matching these trephines to sizes you already stock, compare them on the same inner- or outer-diameter basis your current trephines use.
The trephine series rises in even 1 mm steps from 3 to 10 mm. The drill series is more closely spaced, with intermediate sizes such as 3.65 and 4.5 mm between 2.8 and 5.2 mm. Both series are made from AISI 420 stainless steel with a titanium coating applied over the steel.
Interfaces to check against your system
In this kit, “Universal” describes the breadth of the assortment rather than a fit for every implant brand. Compare it with your system one interface at a time:
- Wrench and ratchet: the 10–40 Ncm wrench lists 4.0 mm and 6.35 mm interfaces, and the ratchet extender has a 4 mm square
- Handpiece connection: two handpiece drivers, sized 1.25 mm and 2.42 mm
- Hand driving: two long hex drivers with 1.25 mm hex tips, plus the 2.33 mm extender and the two compression screws
The wrench, ratchet extender, hand drivers and handpiece drivers all come in the same box, providing different driving formats to match against your equipment.
Quoting and reprocessing
All instruments are reusable and autoclavable. Reprocess the set according to the instructions supplied with it. To request a quote, send us three things: the number of sets you need, the implant system and handpiece the drivers have to match, and any packaging, labelling or document requirements for your market.
