About Russian Tissue Forceps
Russian tissue forceps are thumb-operated forceps recognized by their rounded, toothed gripping ends. This pattern differs from narrow College dressing tweezers and from conventional pointed tissue forceps, so the jaw profile should be included in any replacement specification.
Selecting the right configuration
Specify overall length, the diameter and shape of the working ends, tooth pattern and handle grip. Send a tip close-up when replacing an existing instrument: identical overall lengths do not ensure identical contact surfaces. State individual quantities instead of assuming a multi-piece pack when the quotation lists one instrument.
Measurements and evidence
The nominal length reference is six inches; confirm the supplied measurement. Anthony Surgical and Teleflex list Russian forceps in the 6-inch/15-cm class. These are nominal reference descriptions: 6 inches converts to 152.4 mm, whereas 15 cm is 150 mm. The quoted model’s drawing should resolve the actual overall length, tip diameter and permitted tolerances.
Care and documentation
During sample review, check that opposing tips meet correctly and that teeth and grip surfaces are free of visible damage. Obtain the supplied device’s intended use and validated cleaning instructions, especially for the toothed working ends. A similar-looking manufacturer’s sterilization statement or device registration does not certify this product.
